The ultra-lightweight Evolution Line exhaust system for the S 63 AMG Coupé is made entirely of the highest quality titanium and manufactured in the company's in-house titanium foundry. For the first time, the revolutionary new system features an active X-connection, which allows exhaust gases to mix from both sides of the engine. The system has been designed for durability and performance, using special titanium alloys that are 47% lighter than steel and 45% lighter than the standard system. The Evolution Line has a unique sound profile, which unleashes the full potential of the engine's firing order. By using the vehicle's own electronics and the Akrapovic Sound Kit, different sound characteristics can be accessed via the control of the active X-connection - this also ensures controlled and highly precise control of the valve flaps, which allows the sound to be changed. With the valve flaps open, the sound is fuller, more continuous and resonant; when closed, the system produces the pure and powerful roar reminiscent of a muscle car. With an impressive increase in the power and torque curve across the entire rev range, the system can achieve a further performance upgrade for the V8 biturbo engine. For the new and innovative Evolution Line system, a special technique for the seamless connection of titanium and carbon parts was also used for the first time to give the tailpipes of the system a continuous surface finish and to highlight it in its entirety. The Akrapovic exhaust system for the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupé (C217) is a complete system. For packaging reasons, the EVO system is divided into two codes. It must be ensured that the corresponding connecting pipe is ordered for the slip-on - UAKE-ME/T/2 (see accessories).
