Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust System

With a distinctive sound when shifting, coupled with increased power and torque, all encapsulated in a full titanium system, the Slip-On Line (Titanium) offers the Akrapovič experience while meeting ECE type approval. Constructed from lightweight, high-grade titanium alloys and finished with two sets of carbon fibre/titanium tailpipes, the system consists of complex parts manufactured in-house in the titanium foundry, including the valve housings and manifolds from the central silencer to the tailpipes. Two valves – one on each side of the silencer – adjust the gas flow to create the distinctive Akrapovič sound, which is noticeably different from that of the X5M with the standard system. The exhaust note is most noticeable when changing gears and accelerating, and this can be further controlled by adding the optional Akrapovič Sound Kit to provide enhanced listening pleasure. Akrapovič achieved a power increase of 12.1 hp at 2,400 rpm and a torque increase of 35.4 Nm at 2,400 rpm when tested on the Akrapovič dyno with a BMW X5M with the standard M Sport exhaust system for comparison. There is also the option for further exhaust tuning through the addition of the optional Evolution Link pipe set (Titanium); using the link pipe set changes the gas flow and delivers the best possible sound from the Slip-On Line (Titanium). As a further enhancement, Akrapovič has created optional parts to change the look of the vehicle and complement the beautiful finish of the system's tailpipes. The visual experience can be further enhanced with a hand-crafted carbon fibre diffuser. The standard exhaust system must be cut for the Slip-On system to be installed.
